Different industries depending on IoT

What generally thinking about IoT strikes our mind?. Firstly what is IoT? Why should we learn that topic? What will be the future of learning IoT? What is its application in real life? And many more questions we come across in our dream to grow up.

If anyone wants to approach this particular field step by step then he/she must know first  What IoT is?

IoT | Introduction

Well, IoT stands for Internet Of Things which describes the network or communication between “things” (objects that are embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies to connect and exchange data with other devices and systems) through the “Internet“.

Internet of Things is a 16 years old term, but the actual idea of connecting devices since so long.

back then in around the 70s, the idea was often called “embedded internet” or “pervasive computing”.

Anyone studying in the field of technology like B.tech, BSc, or any other undergraduate courses, can be INTERNET OF THINGS. I can assure you this is the only topic which will make you deal with software as well as hardware too.

If we talk about the very basics of IoT we should firstly deal with the hardware components. As a beginner, we should know some basic devices, that are ARDUINO UNO, RASPBERRY PI.

some useful sensors like humidity sensor, rain sensor, IR sensors, etc which are easy to deal with. Now hardware needs a power supply to run as well as instructions to let them know how to run. those instructions are display through coding.

The actual term “Internet of Things” was coined by Mr Kevin Ashton in 1999. Thus, He was working in supply chain optimization. also, he wanted to gain the attraction of senior management to his new exciting technology called RFID.

Because the internet was the hottest new trend at that time and it somehow made sense, so he called his presentation “Internet of Things”.

Interesting right! Coding is the only thing based on what the IoT devices run. So here comes a question in mind: which coding language is used and where to code?

so, the answer is very simple. Basic C and C++ are the reference languages and one of the platforms for coding is Arduino IDE

Arduino IDE

ARDUINO IDE is a platform which provides features to code a variety of IoT devices.

The industrial revolution has created a huge dependency on IoT devices too.

There are lots of applications of devices in industries like, In the logistics sector or packaging industry. it’s fatal when a machine runs out of labels.

To prevent this situation, the technicians of the company need to be notified well in advance before anything happens.

The sensor’s data triggers an alarm, which allows the technicians to take immediate action. A push notification or email alert on their smartphone ensures that the responsible people receive the message on time.

Also, Industrial robots such as UR+ robots make repetitive work easy. Remote access and IoT features are use to change robot program actions or get a better insight into the log files. Additionally, monitoring the work may help to improve the actions of a certain robot. Which can done if we have access to the IP camera recordings or live stream that make improvements. Also, we can quickly and easily set up a VPN connection for full network access to any device connected to the robot.

different Industrial sectors depending on IoT

it can be classified into:

Medical and Healthcare:

The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is an application of the IoT for medical and health-related purposes. The IoMT – “Smart Healthcare“, as the technology for creating a digitized healthcare system, and connecting available medical resources and healthcare services. The working of IoT devices in healthcare industries can be use to monitor health in remote locations, and enhance the communication system

Transportation:

In the transportation sector, IoT plays a great role. Keep tracking vehicles and notifying the easiest route for the destiny can made easier through IoT. besides this transportation communication system can upgrade and transport vehicles too. It will be very beneficial to live our daily lives easier.

Agriculture:

Thinking about agriculture what comes into our mind is the FARMING sector, villagers, farming procedures all those fields can be upgrade to achieve a better result for both consumers and farmers using IoT devices which can be an automated system of ploughing, irrigating etc.

Military sector:

It is the most important sector of our country which can be treat on better with the help of IoT devices for surveillance, monitoring outsiders. also the health monitoring system plays a very important role in this sector, including rescue systems too.

Now here comes a vital point to remember: we must keep knowledge of every current or updated version of devices we are going to deal with.

IoT can be profitable in the fields where quick production, as well as the quality of products both, are critical factors for a higher Return on Investment.

One of such fields is the manufacturing industries. And the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) has transformed it with things like big data, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
