It’s always harder to listen and understand what a person is saying than what a person speaks. This human proclivity poses another challenge for machine learning in terms of speech recognition.

Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) are mostly used for speech recognition. ASR is used to convert the spoken words to text and the NLP will be used for processing the text to its derived meaning because humans often speak in acronyms and abbreviations to produce the accurate transcription extensive computer analysis of NLP used.
Virtual Personal Assistants:
For now, just say every mobile user has been using a virtual personal assistant once a day it may be Siri, Cortana, Alexa, Google assistant and more As the name suggests, Virtual Personal Assistants are helpful in finding useful information with speech or text.

Social Media (Instagram, Facebook):
One of the most common applications of Machine Learning is search recommendations and Friends Suggestions on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or any other social media.
Facebook and Instagram use face detection by using image detection algorithms like OpenCV, SSD, or GANs and more to automatically suggest the face of the person which matches its Database.
One of the Deep Learning projects of Facebook is DeepFace. It is responsible for the identifying and recognition of faces in the picture uploaded.
Also, it provides the alternative tags Alt-Tags for the image which have already been uploaded on the site. so, then it will be suggesting names in the picture.
For example, if we upload a photo with the Paris Eiffel tower the Alt-Tag has a description like this picture that may contain Paris location Eiffel tower with the description.
Online Video Streaming:
Online streaming partners like YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Aha, Hotstar, and more have millions of subscribers.
Every online streaming partners having an algorithm that constantly gathers massive amounts of data which have been giving by the user without knowing I.e.(closing a video in middle, searching for a required movie) When you pause, rewind, or fast forward and some user activities like :
- What day you watch content (News, Songs, TV Shows)
- The Date and Time you watch
- When you pause a video and leave
- Searching for today’s trending content
- Newly released watching’s
they collect every data for each user and will using it and a lot of applications of machine learning.
